At the end of October 2013 I graduated at the TU Delft mechanical engineering department with the new specialization ‘Sports Engineering’. For my graduation I developed a 3 dimensional biomechanical model that simulates the motion of a speed skater. Additionally I found a new measurement system to accurately measures the 3D kinematics of a speed skater. In the upcoming 4 years (in a PhD program) I will try to further develop this model and the measurement systems in order to give real-time feedback to a speed skater.
